About
Cristian Garcia began his martial arts training at age 16. Joining his high school wrestling team and also training boxing after school. Once he was finished with high school he put all his effort into pursuing a fighting career and joining a mixed martial arts gym (house of champions in van nuys). 4 months later he made his mixed martial arts amateur debut and won. He went on to have a total of 10 amateur bouts winning an amateur title for Amir fighting championships before making his professional debut. As a professional he made his name fighting for promoters such as Gladiator challenge and King of the Cage. He now has 18 mma fights under his belt and has fought in large venues such as the Citizens Bank Arena in front of a few thousand fight fans
His Brazilian jiu jitsu training started in 2010, under the guidance of professional mma fighter and bjj black belt Nick Dieter. His style of jiu jitsu was heavily influenced with the purpose of using it in real combat. Grappling with the knowledge that you can sometimes be vulnerable to strikes, helped make him a more well rounded martial artist. Also training under great mma fighters and bjj athletes Rob Gooch and Arnaldo Maidana has given Cristian the experience and knowledge to now teach others. Cristian Garcia holds a brown belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu and has used his knowledge in grappling to win a number of mma fights by submission as well as jiu jitsu tournaments. His goal is to continue to train, teach and compete in Brazilian jiu jitsu alongside those students who have a desire to challenge themselves
